Hi,

Do you mean the Guaymas harbor? I've only fished there once and wasn't very successful.
I hear the best corvina fishing in the region is off the APIGUAY dock, but I've never been able to get access to it. Plus, they're not always there. I'm sure there must be some large grouper and snapper hiding there also. The closest I've dived to the Guaymas harbor was near the industrial area (where the sardine plants are). The water was really murky, which let us almost bump into some very large snappers.

If you mean the SC marinas, you're not allowed to fish in them, but they are full of fish. The corvina enter them during season to feed, and there are a lot of resident snapper and cabrillas.

If you want to try night fishing with bait, you can try using shrimp heads on a rocky reef. That's the most consistent way I found of catching coconaco (barred pargo) which though they have small mouths, are probably the meanest fighters on the reef.

saludos,

Duncan
