Jimmy, there is so much going on concerning the various vaccines, politics, money, FDA approval, etc. I find these distractions of no consequence as the vaccines have proven to be effective, in at the very least, the slowing down of the covid pandemic.

the authorities in Mazatlan Sinaloa are asking bar and restaurant owners to ask for proof of vaccination or a valid covid test, prior to entering.

Mazatlán: Certificado de vacunación Covid-19 será obligatorio para entrar a establecimientos

Remember when this thread was about The Virus........?

I am hearing that Covid has hit several of the real estate offices in San Carlos VERY hard. No, no deaths have been reported but more than one office has had to close because of the number of employees infected.

Does anyone have first or second hand information?

I am pretty worried about how this outbreak of the Delta variant may hit the local population. The last time I looked, about two weeks ago, only about 20% of the Mexican population was fully vaccinated.

I am also hearing that town is chock full of people from outside of town and that masks are a rarity among these outsiders. One person associated with a real estate office said it's the busiest summer they can ever remember, so far.

I see this going to turn into an "US or THEM" situation.

Hook...this is not a time to be Social...it is a time of Prevention... What was expected, when some/many don't trust, believe or even care what is happening. As a point of reference...Asia/,Japan,China,Thailand,Philippines,New Zealand Australia all have fierce surge again and closing down...Usa,Europe,BE, all same events....what does it take to get everyone to realize that this will go on for ever ...if we all don't heed the warnings... Gov't is trying to catch-up with some thing never before seen in many years.

Exactly, low vaccinations with this variant is the still the main problem I fear too.

On July 24th Guaymas was red as it is today, while Hermosillo and Obregon where Orange.
Its Tuesday morning and the traffic is heavier than I have ever seen it in San Carlos as closing the border has brought  all the Mexican tourists from Hermosillo and Obregon here to eat out and go to the pool w/o masks in higher densities, and of course the air conditioners are going full blast recirculating the spores during our hot August weather.

Summers when San Carlos became sleepy are no longer the case.

Meanwhile, the marina and restaurant owners are protesting in the streets of Guaymas, so local media is announcing that they are lifting restrictions this week due to their pressure.

Vaccinations are ongoing, but supply is not keeping up with the demand. AMLO is adamant that schools will open the end of August while Mexico's population is primariliy made up of young people. Mexicans are worried, but are also tired of the lockdown.

And Fauci came out today, worrying about an even more deadly, virulent strain surfacing, if we dont stop this Delta variant. One that would not be stopped by any vaccine that we could develop fast enough.

Wonderful.........

Just Google it. Take your pick of news sources.

so i assume this is the thread where we can post our thoughts?

* i am concerned about the welfare of everyone who lives, works and travels to work here or is visiting in San Carlos.
* it directly or indirectly affects me.
* ALL who have contracted covid should be treated with compassion.
* there is a great divide of competing thought, a ying & yang, good and evil, right and wrong.
* there is at this time, almost no one who doesn't know of someone who as been infected or has died from covid.
* WE ALL know this, but watch a ridiculous "meter" of yellow, orange and RED, as if it is a magic wand for guidance, which very few follow and little if any ENFORCEMENT is done.
* it is truly amazing to me with over a year and a half of living with covid, people refuse to wear masks and get vaccinated, yet they are the one's who are squawking like sea gulls wanting their "rights and freedom's " back or not taken away.
* what about our "rights" who are vaccinated, who wear masks, and just want to survive to see tomorrow?
* Hook posted a legitimate concern. how many people where infected DIRECTLY and INDIRECTLY, because of the actions and beliefs of a few, his WORRY was and is correct and valid and now confirmed!
