From 5-7p.m. Haven't heard from the last couple of days. A few marlin were released. Heard a couple 15-18# Dorado were brought in. Some Bonita were reported. Corvina have been around. 1st place at the lake last week for 10 had a 5.7# average.

Big surprise yesterday......a 40# female dorado (yes weighed on tested scales for accuracy). Not only have we not seen one of those in quite awhile but expecially this early in May.  Lots of "doritos" out there.

Nice.  Keeping my fingers crossed that dorado are actually making a bit of a comeback.  A year of COVID may have removed enough pressure to let the fishery recover a bit.  Keep it up, and don't take the females (unless the hook goes thru their eyeballs).

The Dorado have shown up the 1st and second week of May as long as I can remember. Clockwork.

But a 40 lb female is remarkable as usually the small ones arrive 1st in the last 45 years I have fished here.

That fish has grown considerably in the last day. Friend is claiming a 30# cabrilla, 50# YT from the other side, and 300# Blue lost. We're even rigging scales now. Sounds like something else that happened last year.

Some marlin within a few miles. Baby Dorado. Tons of small bonita.

was glad to catch the "big one" as didn't have to mess with the doritos.  Yes I agree throw the females back however they are so small they injure easily  I would rather just leave the area when we see a school of doritos and don't have to watch other boats catch over 50. Have seen that enough to puke.  Are we guilty - only to the point of picking a couple for dinner. All they have to do is wait a few more weeks and they will be bigger.  Guess the saying goes "If I don't get it today then you will tomorrow".
Water temps running 75 F plus which I think is a few degrees about normal for this time.
