Basically, they are saying get back to the US ASAP OR be prepared to remain outside the country indefinitely.


This sounds like a precursor to closing the border, to me. Form your own opinion.

Yes, it may be a precursor to closing the border but I do not read it that way. Nowhere do they say they are closing the border except possibly "non-citizens entry with little advance notice". Seems like they would've at least given US citizens the same heads up if they were possibly not allowing US citizens entry with little advance notice. Even citizens coming from affected countries in Europe are allowed to return albeit with screenings and possibly quarantine. I think they are saying due to problems associated with the virus wherever you are one might not be able to return due to lack of airlines, gas, chaos... Who knows for sure, this is changing day to day.

So, this looks like the same conditions that exist between the US and Canada.
