Wonder if it will have an impact.  Not sure of current penalties.

I remember when we first moved to San Carlos and we needed to get electricity or phone to our lot. We went to the office and were told that it would take weeks to get it done.

We talked about this with others in town and they said what you have to do is contact Mundo, he will get you hooked up.

So, I called Mundo and he came right over and said, "Si, I can do it." Well, he said that in Spanish. And it would cost the equivalent of XXX.XX dollars (can't remember how much now).

I said, OK, please hook it up right now.

He said, sorry, I cant do that during regular business hours of 9-5. I am too busy. But I can do it after I get off my job and you will pay me cash at that time.

Everyone I talked to said, that's the way it's done;  after hours.

Was I guilty of bribery?

I was left wondering what kept Mundo so busy during the day that he could only install lines AFTER work. ;)
