Interesting competition. I really think that San Carlos gets 100x more tourist traffic than the other cities it is compeating with. Intersting that Yecora, Alamos, and Puerto Penasco were beat out by Banamichi, Ures, Cocorit.

They don´t even mention Yecora, Alamos or Puerto Peñansco in the article. They do say that cities had to provide certain documentation and the Banamichi, Ures, Cabora, San Carlos is Cócorit did so and on time. Possibly the other places did not provide documentation. I will say that if you have not visited Cócorit (just south and west of Obregon) it is well worth a visit.

I was hinting the state should invest where they will see the best return. Just my opinion though.

I know these towns Mary.

Well, Yecora does not need the state´s money. They have the cartels. It appears to me that the state is trying to broaden their tourist appeal rather than lure people to the same places.

Its for "beautification"where I'd prefer another well and pump. Still, glad to see them rewarding some towns for making a go of it.
