Friends are going by bus to Tucson soon and want to buy their tickets tomorrow at Tufesa.

In the past I have heard the best course of action is to buy tickets from Guaymas to Nogales, Mexico, take a taxi from the bus station to the border, walk across and get a shuttle to Tucson.
My understanding is this avoids the delay at the border that a bus crossing at Nogales en route to Tucson must endure.

Is this still the way to go?
Should I discourage them from buying tickets from GYM to Tucson, and buy GYM to Nogales instead?

And the other question is: are the Nogales to Tucson shuttles available only during the day?

Thank you...

This post can be deleted, I got the information elsewhere that I need.

When the Bus arrives in Nogales, Sonora they have to clean it Completely...(Per US Customs; "We do not want International Trash coming into the US")... Then you board the bus and it waits in line to cross the border. Once in the US every one and every thing is taken from the bus and there is a complete inspection of the Bus, the People and the Luggage. Then the bus waits for the Mexican Nationals while they go through the process of getting their Visa.
My estimate for all of this is 3 Hours, maybe More or rarely Less.
I did it ONCE!!

The last time, I got off of the bus at the Nogales, Sonora station. I took a taxi to the border. I walked across the border (10 minuets). I walked up the steps to Terrace Ave and found a Shuttle... (About 20 minuets total) But I had wait about 45 minuets till the Shuttle had enough passengers.

Now, You have the facts....You make your own decision on which action will be best for you. If you are making a connecting flight or trip, figure this time into your schedule.

PS. You can google the shuttles in Nogales AZ and then call them for exact information..

Buen Viaje
