Lots of chatter on the other board about Dr. Vanessa moving to a new location here in town.  Anyone have any information and validation of this "chatter"?

Yes, Dr Vanessa has left Dr Laguna's vet clinic. She was one of the vets that worked for Dr Hector Laguna. She left without notice, except for calling Hector to inform him that she wanted her liquidation, and it came as a surprise to all of us. Including Dr Laguna. I do not know where she is moving to, but she has told several of us that she will have a clinic in San Carlos. Dr Laguna is trying to have one of his other vets that speaks english, keep the clinic open in San Carlos, and he will know by the end of the week. That is all I know, and I got that info from Hector Laguna and Vanessa. So no rumors here......

Yes it is true.  Vanessa claimed Laguna wouldn't return her calls for weeks before she left.

Who know what is true except she is NOT at their old office and hasn't told anyone where
her solo office will be.  Her vet assistant moved to another part of Mexico a few weeks ago too which further confirmed big changes there.

There are other Vets who do a good job with the animals.  Here are some ideas I have personally used over the years.

There are other vets around but two amazing vets in Guaymas who I have personally used several times are worth checking out.  I am super particular about my fur babies so believe me if I go there they have special qualifications in my book.La Mascota feliz    MVZ Luz Rebecca Corona  622-224-6052  on 17th street  (she has xray capabilities also has ultra sound equip and very loving person with the animals.  In business many years.Clinica Veterinaria Julian    MVZ Fernando Julian Garcia   622- 222-0882  located near the Old Soriana and the new Casino near Soc Sec bldg.  He also has many many years of experience and has the old fashioned ability to look at a rash and diagnose it correctly. Both highly qualified kind and loving.  It is important to me that they are correctly licensed too.

I have to say that, in ten years of living in SC, and maybe a dozen visits to Laguna's office, I never once saw Laguna there. It was always Vanessa. I found it rather strange that his name was on the office.

Hook, I concur, I would not know Dr. Laguna, if he introduced himself. My dogs love Vanessa, and we are very intent on maintaining our client/Vet relationship with her. Any and all info on her status and location will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I will post her location as soon as I have it. Dr Laguna was the one who set up the clinic, and Dr Vanessa worked for him in Guaymas, before she came to San Carlos. It was always his clinic, but he became a politician for several years, and wasn't practicing medicine. All things change in time. Unless he gets one of his vets to come to San Carlos to work, the clinic will stayed closed. It is for sale.

Dr. Vanessa is a wonderful veterinarian and I will look forward to her having her own location. She truly is an animal lover. When my sweet cat died, she was crying when she brought her body out, knowing that my kitty was like my daughter. What a tough job for an animal lover in my opinion.

LTR, it appears you have the ability to communicate with Dr. Vanessa. Has she indicated she wants to open a new office in SC?

She told me two days ago she has found a SC location, it is under construction and will be another few weeks til she opens.  I will post anything else she tells me as I hear it.

Vanessa has been working with the SBPA Certificate Program for years and I am in contact with her regularly.  She has taken care of my fur babies for years too.

Keep checking this site and eventually when all of the details are worked out she said she will be back in SC with her own Vet office and I will post it every where.

She just responded space is in construction and should open by end of this month (June).  I sure hope so because so many people and pets miss having her in town.

Would it be advantageous for Vanessa to find a way to keep her client base. In her absence many are going elsewhere, and should they find the other Vets to their liking she could slowly lose her clients. Suggestion, could she publish her cell number, and perhaps she could make house calls in San Carlos for a brief period of time....this might keep her in good standing with her client base...maybe there are other ways for her to see animals at this time, anything would be better.....than nothing.

As much as I love Dr Vanessa, and her love for animals......I was left with a trashed building. Filthy, broken windows, a lot of damage to the walls, unpaid bills. Missing items.......I hope she does better with the next location.

Since Dr. Vanessa was part of a clinic, apparently headed by Dr. Hector Laguna, it would be extremely unusual that she would have signed and been responsible for the lease on the building in San Carlos.  LTR, it would seem that your focus on building conditions/damages should be directed at whomever signed the lease/rental agreement.

She was the one that worked there. The filth and damages were what really got me. As far as the bills unpaid, I realize it was Hector's responsibility, but Dr Vanessa was a friend, so I was surprised when she left, with no notice to me (as a friend), and the place was really bad. I guess it is not right for me to expect any considerations. Hector didn't trash the place, he wasn't even there. I will say nothing more on this, but I had to get it out there. It upset me.

First, I can tell you this I was in Laguna's clinic the day before Vanessa closed.
Everything was in perfect order that day and as clean and organized as it always was throughout the years.

She has been my Vet for many years and I never observed any damage or appearance of damage at that clinic ever. I don't know anything about the financial arrangements between her and Laguna but Vanessa is a very responsible, honest and caring human being and her surrounding always demonstrated that about her.

Now the good news San Carlos, this is the news you were waiting for.

Which means starting Monday she will be open so check her hours on the door.
So many of us missed her care for our fur babies over the last couple of months. Also knowing she is here and open in her new location (next to Rosa's Cantina) on Beltrones is so comforting.

Knowing she is in charge of her own clinic we wish her well and thank her for all the many years of caring for our pets.

I can't say what was left as a tenant or owner without pictures. This page is about where Vanessa has re-opened and I can't wait to bring my squad there. She is my veterinarian and wish her the best of luck.

We do not need any pictures. I for one do not doubt LTR's depiction of the condition of her property. There are many ways this could have occurred. Trusting they were friends, I am hopeful they can find a way to continue their friendship.

Yes I attended.  Probably around 30 people were there.  A priest had blessed the location earlier in the day and she had a ribbon cutting ceremony too along with lovely snacks and liquid refreshments.  Dr Solomon and Dr Rebecca attended along with many people I recognized.  Nice party.

The clinic is newly remodeled has the front office, a grooming room, an exam room and a surgery room.  A couple of other doors were closed so don't know what else.

She started today (Monday) being open Monday - Friday from 9:30 - 5pm.  closed Saturday and Sunday.  Her phone number is 622`-122-5075

On Monday's she has to go to the bank so may open a little later on Monday's.  Not sure if she has employees and if so who they are.

Anyway she is right on Beltrones, next to Rosa's Cantina.
