long time San Carlos resident, Bill Molden, died last night in a Guaymas hospital after complications from gall bladder surgery performed yesterday.

His partner, Lana, is in my thoughts and prayers as she comes to grips with this shocking loss.

Bill’s handle was ‘ ezmony ‘ on this board, so even if you didn’t know him, you have read his posts here.

RIP, Bill...

Devastatingly sad news , Bill aka EZMoney was a larger than life character , and gentleman in many, many ways , yet he did not suffer fools easily.  If he was your friend , you were privileged , Bill would extend a helping hand to many far and wide.

My heart breaks for dear Lana , she saved Bill after several years in the wilderness , they were such a happy couple together in so very many ways , I cannot recall a beer time with Bill when his love for Lana did not find it's way into our conversations.

I have always been grateful for his support when I stared helping with the tournaments , Bill always had my back and was a fountain of useful and astute advice.

I am sure the San Carlos community will embrace Lana and keep her close in their hearts , I know Bill will be watching and that will be his only concern , for her wellbeing.

San Carlos lost a legend ,

Rest easy Bill , you were and are much loved.

Linda, Ryan and I are deeply saddened by this terrible news. Bill was one of my oldest friends in San Carlos and we shared some great days fishing, boating, drinkin a cerveza, working tournament radios and talking about boats, fishing, the Army and just about everything else.

Our hearts go out to Lana and all his friends in San Carlos and elsewhere.

Vaya Con Dios, EZMony

It was a very sad day when Peggy and I received word of Bill's passing. He was a great friend, fishing and boating buddy. We put our two boat teams (EZMONY and SASSY LADY) together for one tournament and called it the " EZLADY ".  A wonderful friend. Calm seas on the trip to the other side buddy. Save me a cerveza.

God Bless
Adios Amigo
Scotty and Peggy

I am deeply saddened by the news. Of all the people I have met and come to know in San Carlos, Bill comes to mind first when the word "character" is mentioned. I did find a bright spot in the sorrow with Ian's observation "he did not suffer fools easily". I will remember that and smile when I think of EZ Money.

Safe passages Bill,

Craig "IronMan" Collins

Not yet.  Lana told me she will have Bill cremated and his ashes spread in the Sea of Cortez that he loved.
But I will keep in touch with her and post any news on a celebration/memorial/ceremony.

There will be a Celebration of Life for Bill Molden at Hammerhead’s tomorrow, May 19, from 12 pm until 6 pm.
Please join family and friends to celebrate Bill’s life tomorrow at his favorite hangout.
