I am really becoming impressed with the food at Chihuahuas, after spending about four separate periods there, watching college basketball over the last two weeks. It's my go-to place for sports events, now. They have true HDTVs with true HDTV signals going into them. I like sitting at the bar. Maria turns the remote over to me.

It is, without a doubt, the best deal on a Mexican combo in town, although it is somewhat non-traditional with the marinated red onion topping the tostada and gordita. Also includes a chile relleno and a cheese enchilada with a non-traditional cheese in the center of the enchilada. Something like a mild goat cheese or something. The gordita and the tostada are shredded beef with toppings. Includes homemade refried beans and rice, too. In fact, Armando says all the food is estilo casero.

It is also the best deal on an order of guacamole. A very large portion for 80 pesos. Homemade salsa casera, too;  a cocido one, though they will make salsa bandera for you, instead. Chips and salsa are free, or at least are when you order at least a beer.My wife had the grilled chicken plate. Comes with a huge breast with ribs and wing attached, a leg and thigh. Seems like it is marinated in a citrus marinade and then coated with what takes like traditional Sonoran chicken seasoning. Fries or onion rings and a side green salad for 130 pesos. Yes, the onion rings are homemade, too. Coated in panko crumbs.
