From Opinion Sonora.

Fines of up to 13k pesos for riding a moto on the beach or climbing Tetakawi without a "certified tourist guide".

Apparently only during Semana Santa.

BTW, have you noticed the new temporary speed limit signs from Santa Rosa to dysfunction junction? 30km now. Completely ignored, as far as I could tell.

I wonder if the speed limit signs are permanent, or only for Semana Santa?

I got caught a few years ago around this time.  The cops were out standing beside Beltones with radar guns.   I was doing the usual 35 mph where the limit was 40km/hr.   Be on the watch for the radar patrols

I can understand the rule about the Tetas.  The upper part is steep and I am sure the cops don't want to spend 1/2 a day getting someone down that was in over their head.  Rescate and the police had to bring someone down some months ago and it was a big project to get it done.

They could make a mint if they would set up radar at their old location by Triana. Cars are often doing 70-80 km/h along there, coming into town. It's getting dangerous to make a right turn off the athletic club road onto Beltrones.

Or better yet, set up by La Conquista so that they slow down BEFORE the first real intersection in town. But, alas, there is no shade there like at the Triana location, so it wont happen.

They are in place with sand bags, so I would guess not permanent.

What does it matter, if they dont enforce it, anyway?

A new sign was being put in place last nite on the road to San carlos as you leave Hiway 15 :

Saftey Corridor for the next 20 km...
Best be doing speed limit or pay ... maybe for Semana Santa or NOT
