A better choice is to stay in Santa Ana.  The Elba hotel is good and there are others.

Thank you, I have stayed at the Elba and also recommend it, but I am looking for something in Nogales, north of KM21, which Santa Ana is not.

At this point, I would recommend staying on the Arizona side. Nogales side does have some issues. Arizona might be more secure.

It might get to be a good idea to know of good hotels in Nogales, Sonora. If border crossings start to be measured in hours at many hours of the day, it can be difficult to arrive at Mariposa at a "light demand" crossing time WITHOUT HAVING TO DRIVE IN THE DARK.

But if one knew of a decent, secure hotel in Nogales, one could be at the DeConcini Crossing between 4-5am.

Is that what you are thinking, Marigot?

That’s half my reasoning.
That’s also why it would be nice if people would just answer the original post, if they have one, rather than try to convince me to do something else.

But in a perfect world we wouldn’t have to ask these questions...

Hotel Marques De Cima.....hotelmarquesdecima.com..........On the main road to the down town crossing, On the west/left side of road past the Auto Zone and TAP Bus Station and before an overpass. I have stayed there. Secure parking.

Hotel Fray Marcos de Niza.....Down town central Nogales...highrise up scale. secure parking across the street. Restaurant, Bar. upscale.   I have stayed there...

If you  want any other info...GOOGLE IT. Also, They can be located and seen on Google Earth Street View or Google Map, with driving directions.

Buen Viaje

PS...Marigot...The boards are full of folks who try to persuade others to do what they do, stay where they stayed!! ie, "Don't do what you want to do...Do what I do instead"---Si o No.....No doubt it is well intentioned advice, though tiring.

Thank you, Jimmy.
The Hotel Fray Marcos site says it is sold out for the dates I may need.  But the Marques de Cima has availability.  Thanks for the good directions.

And, yes, sometimes the suggestions from responders are interesting and give me ideas I never thought of, so I do appreciate having other perspectives.
In this case, however, I needed the answer to my original question.

Thank you for your response...have a great day.
