I am wondering if anyone knows of an eye doctor in the general area who might be familiar with a possible detached retina situation. We have the number of Dr. Barrera in Guaymas and will be calling him tomorrow, but are looking for more than one option, if anyone is aware of one.

Thank you for your time.

You had a retinal tear or a detached retina?

While G maps says the office is open, all I get at 222-7302 is a fax machine. Do any of you have another number for him?

Letty recommends her eye doctor Dr Jesus Benitez Santoyo
622 222 2535
Serdan Oriente, Paseo Romano, Local A, Guaymas

He takes patients as they arrive, no appointments. End of Serdan, right side in Eye glass shop.

Maybe is not a good option for possible retina issues. I have too many friends who were on boats etc and couldn't get to help. One friend's wife lost both to mac deg in 1 month.

As you are aware, I'm sure...... A detached retina or retinal flap is very, very serious. "TIME is of the essence"... this was considered a "medical emergency" as per my ophthalmologist in Phoenix. I had a horseback riding accident and hit my head on the back of a bumper. Not as common this is developed from the trauma I was told, The Emergency Department at the hospital looked behind my eye, called in a specialist immediately.  In the end, I had something else going on. I felt that I was very, very lucky. Hope yours isn't a detachment either....Best of luck

I had a very thorough eye exam by Barrera today. He indicates he can find nothing to indicate a problem with the retinas of either eye. No bleeding whatsoever and no thinning of the rear of the eye. Nothing serious.

He is attributing my symptoms to...........old age!! Like everything else!!!

Good news, I guess, but my "floaters" are getting pretty bad. No reliable treatment for those.

Unrelated, but what is G Maps? It sounds like a good tool for finding people/things in Guaymas or San Carlos.
