Apparently a vote of citizens of San Carlos will decide who the next commissioner is, according to an announcement made yesterday. This sure cuts down on any lengthy campaign stump. The vote is tomorrow.

I commend the mayor for taking this very democratic step. Maybe this Morena party IS a step forward for Mexico.

The head of the police is the commandante. A new one has been appointed. The comisario is a different position though they share the same building. The commandante of policia does not report to the commisario.

Thanks Rich, I was thrown by the translation that spit out, "There are two aspirants to the police station of the important tourist destination....."

"This Saturday, December 8, the vote will be held for the appointment of the new commissioner of San Carlos, this was confirmed by the secretary of the City Council, Jazmín Gómez Lizárraga.

The election process will be democratic and transparent, as Mayor Sara Valle Dessens proposed in the campaign, so it will be the residents of San Carlos who will choose the next commissioner.

"An urn will be installed in the San Carlos police station, it will only be one urn so that the process will be more transparent" said Gómez Lizárraga.

There are only two aspirants to the office of Comisario in the important tourist destination, who bear the names of Jesús Enrique Gámez Pérez and Miguel Gerardo Domínguez Gómez, who met the requirements of the law and will be democratically voted.

The electoral registry of San Carlos is made up of 2 thousand 312 people, only those who prove their residence in the aforementioned sector will be able to cast their vote."

This means those 2,312 San Carlos resident Mexican registered voters, will decide which of these two will be the new Comisario. So the rest of us will just "stand-by" and wait and see what happens. Supposedly, whoever is elected should be a duly sworn in Comisario that we can take our requests and complaints to. We shall see... [smile]
