For years I've heard people referring to the "Volcano" and at one time I had co-ordinates that someone gave me but I now can't find.  Is the "Volcano" one of the "Three Sisters?"  If you have co-ordinates please post them or PM me.  Thanks.

Jimmy

It's inside that deepest circle on Terrafin, and it's speculation if it really exists.

On the Guaymas/San Carlos Terrafin page, S/SE of Tortuga you see a oblong slightly figure-eight circle. I think it says 6,000 ft. Not sure what research vessels have found. Many do not return.

Striptease, I think I have the coordinates to the volcano in my GPS.....but I am not down there, yet.

But, based on using the ruler function on Google Earth AND where I BELIEVE the volcano to be, it looks like it is about 24 nm on a heading of 198-199 or so. Keep in mind that this is based on TRUE NORTH, not magnetic north.

And if you are going out there to troll for pelagics, you might as well keep going another 4 nm, on that heading, to the edge of the escarpment to the Guaymas basin; even deeper water.

There is actually another escarpment that can also be used as a trolling route. It is about 18 nm out on a 170 heading. You could cruise to near here, and then troll over to the other areas.

That's the best I can do from up here.

47 mi 192 on Terrafin. Not sure about the 11 degrees of variance, and it is that whole area about 10 mi. around probably. It's in that circle that looks like an amoeba trying to eat Tortuga. If you go that far in any direction you should find fish.

The other location, termed the Clit by Pete, is also good to find.

170 at 18 is about the deepest crevice of the Horseshoe, before it starts to fan out.

It is exactly 39 miles on it 200-205 you will hit the edge of it if you don’t like that the little crater is 30 miles and about at 210
You cannot miss it on your GPS

You will also be 14 to 16 miles south southeast of Tortuga

Adam took his submarine to the bottom there last year. He has also never failed to catch a fish on the 'little crater'.

The Little Crater doesn't show on Terrafin, but it is just on the upper outside of the Clit. It's just a small circle about 5,000 ft down, but it's Adam's secret spot. I think that you can get lucky working anywhere around the Clit and going deep and long.
