Another HOO caught today along with a big dorado and some billfish. Water was green on the reef but saw dorado jumping at flying fish but couldnā€™t hook up.

Gotta give a breath of life to this page. Super clear water out there. There are some marlin in close and 6-10# dorado. A few footballs were found outside the Reef. Billfish seemed pretty sparse out there. One boat had some decent dorado catches, the last up past the Island. Most were scratching up but a few to 20#. Going to blow most of the week and hopefully the moon could get the currents moving again. Last summer it seemed we found the bait at 30mi. The town will be in party mode for a couple more weeks and it's not cold, but there are boats still fishing.

Bite might finally be picking up based on our trip last week. Two boats picked up 4 dorado and 3 stripers on Friday. Blown off on Saturday, but 14 yellowtail and other rockfish on Sunday. Nothing huge with the biggest maybe 12lbs, but everything looks like it is getting more active. lots of flying fish - hoping it is turning around.

Haven't fished for yellows in October before. Where have these deep water monsters been sighted?

I think Bryan posted YT in 180 feet off Deer Island. So, very close. 12-18 lbs. Believe the report came from Telamon. About 3-4 days old now.

Good marlin bite lately down by the Horseshoe. One boat caught six the other day. A few dorado out there. A couple little footballs and one very nice catch of larger models. The yellowtail and bonita were off yesterday,  but they are around. Besides a zillion skipjack, there are good bait numbers around in close. Saw one marlin in 200' of water. Comfortable fishing, except for tomorrow.

Well, there you go. The YT were busy putting away their lawn furniture.

Very surprised to even see one in this warm water. Tossing large lures through the skipjack in hopes bigger fish we're below. Couldn't get the lure through them before the skippies inhaled it.

Make lemonade. Skippie bellies are good bottom fish bait.

Of course, it sounds like you could get a season's worth of bait in an hour.

More like half an hour. Was going to bring a couple back for catfish bait, but they make such a bloody mess in the cooler. Normally, I give them to JJ. Never eat fish tacos therešŸ˜‰

Lots of snapper, sierra, bonita and yt up to 15 lbs out front and at the island. But lots of bait limits action to Prime fishing times. Fish have been plentifull 80% of the time if you use the right technique
