If I had the passion for either of the 2 establishments left there, as some of you do, I would not blink at
having to fork over 50 pesos, or even more to go there. I do not begrudge anyone for being willing to pay that fee.

Town owned beach parking lots in Dennis, Massachusetts charge $25 daily parking on weekends and there are lines waiting for spots. Never heard of any complaints there about the price!

Being from New England / Upstate NY, I can assure you we complained plenty about the high costs of going to the beach and the exclusivity of it.  But, almost the entire eastern seaboard from Maine to Florida is privately held land, what can you do?

Back to the Coppel Beach Parking, I understand the logic behind the $50mxn charge for parking.... They want to attract folks who will spend money on the establishments; instead of those who bring all of their food/beer in a cooler and presumably leave allot of it behind in the form of waste on the beach.

Well, I would say the 50 peso charge is having the opposite effect...it is repelling me from going to those restaurants, and I will more likely go to the beach with a cooler.
But I won’t leave trash.
