AppleTV works very well. I am a subscriber to DISh in TUcson, so I have almost all of the major channels and services available on the AppleTV. In addition, with DISH’s DVR that includes Sling I can watch my recorded shows at my house in Tucson by using my iPad/iPhone to cast the DISH recording tot he AppleTV.
Many of the channels/networks and services like Netflix and HBO don’t play nice when you are out of the country and will either block access or substitute a local service such as Netflix MX instead of Netflix US. Currently a easy VPN service is working to fix that. I am using SmartDNSPorxy. There are others that will work also. Beware however that it is a constant cat and mouse game going on between the VPN vendors and networks like Netflix. So what works now, may not work later. But for now, I am a happy TV junkie.
