Hi, has anyone received an outrageously high electric bill for November/January. Ours just went from 900 pesos to 2000. We haven't used any more than the months before. Did we just get a rate hike or is this a random f**k over. Same experience anybody?

I don't know how they do it, but the CFE charges for foul language.

Oct 31 is the last day of the "summer rate", maybe it has something to do with 'lower' electric bill in previous months. Most of the billing period paid in November included the subsidy, not the case with the billing cycle ending in Jan 07 or so.

Yeah, I know about the summer rate, it's just crazy, that the bill is higher than when using the ac during the hottest months. We don't use heaters or anything much right now. Oh well....

Today is 1-19-18 and I still haven't received my bill. Usually it comes about the 10th of the month.

I look at mine online, no need for the paper.  It can be printed if you want the paper.

Did you compare the number of kilowatts consumed between the months? Your consumption should be much lower in these cooler months, unless you are running a lot of electrical heaters.

Electrically heated swimming pool that didnt need heating in the summer?

For some reason the bills have not been delivered, I did not get mine, called 071, they sent me my bill via email attachment, printed bill, took to bank and paid, you have until the 26th of the month to pay or you will be disconnected.

We are bare bones? No swimming pools, no heater. Interestingly the bill doesn't show the usage graph for the past few months. The graph stops with September, which is curious. we had around 1000 units on the bill in November and then it showed 9000 units or thereabouts. No way....we didn't use that!

The meter readings are on the bill. Check the meter, maybe they read it wrong.

Do you just dial 071 to get to the electric company?

Angelast1, at 2000 pesos for 2 months, that equates to roughly $50 per month. Is this not reasonable?
