is Motel Elba the preferred place to stay along Hwy 15 in Santa Ana?

I was unable to find a web site for them, but did find a few positive reviews on TripAdvisor.  Would prefer a place that does NOT allow animals in the rooms.

Thanks for any other hotel recommendations or input you may have...

Some people rave about the restaurant, especially Mel (rest his soul), but I thought it was below average for breakfast. Didnt like the cafeteria style serving. This was probably six years ago, though.

Never stayed in the restaurant.

We have stayed there several times.  Extremely clean rooms at a reasonable rate.  Restaurant ok, not great.  Not aware of their pet policy.  Our dog sleeps in the car.

Years ago their Milanesa was great but the resturant has not fared well. I had a better breakfast in the hotel on the other side of the street 3 years ago.

I do remember many raving about the Milanesa there. I never had it.

My abiding memory was not liking the looks of the cafeteria fare for breakfast and ordering, a la carte, what the menu called "huevo ranchero". I figured it was a misspell until my SINGLE EGG arrived with almost no ranchero sauce, no tortilla base, no beans and no tortillas on the side.

I laughed at the very literal translation.........and never went back.

They also has something called elephant ears that were very popular.

I had a good stay...room with 2 queen beds, plenty of hot water (and ONE wash cloth!!!!), decent lighting, functional climate control, mini fridge, MegaCable with close to 100 channels, gated parking lot, lovely staff.

Skipped the restaurant...don’t do buffets.  But the nice desk clerk offered me coffee this morning.
