must be my turn! I live in the ranchitos and did not stay here in December. Yet, just got my water bill for 4000 pesos! No obvious leaks etc., etc. they did apply the 10% discount for annual pre payment. Any thoughts-suggestions, seen this as a topic many times but just kept my fingers crossed, thanks....

Nothing new. My meter doesn't work. My plants are mostly gone. Water company hardly ever has water to our area, yet they say I use atleast 1000 pesos a month. And I am not there very often. I use to have properties for sale that were empty, no leaks, no gardens, and always the water bill was hugh.....they do not care. I can not see the water company getting their act together anytime soon. What a pity.

The cartel runs it now. No, if Chapo was in charge everything would be good.
We were getting fines because the private company that they hired to install our meter put it on our property. Makes sense doesn't it!

UPDATE- Did check the meter, the numbers did coincide with the bills etc, turns out my meter is on my neighbors water line! This has been the case since the great meter exchange done last year I believe. So there is a leak some where along my neighbors line. Was able to confirm this by hiring. Plumber to check and dig up the line to prove to the water company that they were billing me incorrectly. Have meeting next week to hopefully clear up all the confusion in regards to the billing. They did send a crew out to exchange the meters to the correct water lines, and they also marked our lines with the account number to each party to prevent further instances. We have three meters grouped together in front of the property.

Knowing full well the water situation here, we negotiated a fixed monthly rate years ago. Every April, I pay one year in advance, and have never had an altered bill. Do not have a pool, but we do have a spa and large gardens, with fruit trees. Works for me.
