Merry Christmas San Carlos soon it will be 2018! A few important SBPA things will be happening later this week.
  • The 2018 SBPA Event Calendar is almost sold out.  Remember this is our second most important fund raising effort of the year and we need to sell all of them soon.
  • Next week Joan Weldon (our calendar girl) will be at CIBancoagain to make calendars available to those who haven't gotten theirs.  This calendar features over 70+ of "your" sweet rescue dogs and cats and it is extra special this year.  A few calendars are also available at Altered Tails Books Shoppe and Colibri Restaurant.
  • Please buy one or two for a gift and remember when you buy two you pay for one spay/neuter surgery.  Of course donations are also appreciated it you already have your calendar.
  • Later in the week we will be publishing our impressive 2017 Spay/Neuter Results.  Several collaborative efforts this year have catapulted our numbers to incredible levels. We continue to investigate creative new ways to reach more dogs and cats in need.  It is all a matter of finances.  Sadly the Sonora Health Department has not been participating most of 2017.  Anyone out there with fund raising ideas are welcome to email them to me: cdonyourmind@yahoo.com    We are only limited by the amount of money we have to buy surgical supplies and medicines.  Our volunteers work their hearts out and also donate money to help cover clinic expenses.  No one at SBPA is paid one peso for their expenses or work.  We believe our work will help save unborn puppies and kittens from a life on the streets or worst being cruelly euthanized.
  • Planning for the 2018  Fashion Show and Luncheon is well underway.  Anyone interested in sponsoring a table on January 24th should email Margaret Palmini  as soon as possible:  mpalmini@hotmail.com   Tables are filling up fast for this special event of the winter season.
  • Finally please continue to support our Altered Tails Book Shoppe.  Every third Saturday of the month we have our "Bag O Books" sale.  Stuff as many books as you can in the bag and pay 100 pesos.  We have a great selection of current well cared for books available and remember how much good those pesos/dollars can do.

Great news is last week's clinics were challenged by a rain storm, late starts and lots of hard work but the final results were so worth it.
December Clinics - 4 days - 252 Total animal spay/neuter surgeries and other treatments
(including one leg amputation on a suffering cat)
Because of the Mid-Western Vet University's participation we were able to treat many cases of mange, fleas, and ticks.  The University brings down all these treatments and gives them free of charge.  Every animal got up to date shots including Rabies. What a great conclusion to the 2017 SBPA Season.Come to the SBPA Luncheon & Fashion Show for a complete update on overall results for the year and our exciting projects planned for 2018.

We did it!~  The La Manga clinic had a great turnout with 39 dogs and cats getting free surgery and rabies shots. There are a surprising number of Chihuahuas in La Manga and many other very nice dogs and cats.
Great work by everyone including several folks who transported animals today:
Jan Clark, Mitch & Jim~thanks to each of you.
