Why is there absolutely nothing on any San Carlos blog about Carmen Gonzales (Amigos Trust)?  This is important information real estate purchasers absolutely need to know.

John Moore. Your site and post from 2007 are wrong. The Ordaz's and Carmen Gonzales are not associated with each other and from what I heard, not friendly. Carmen Gonzales has the Amigos Trust in the kiosko at Los Jitos.

I am not saying anything good or bad about either, just FYI.

That's right. the Ordaz family and the Gonzales' are not related in any way nor have they ever had any mutual business dealings. Furthermore, no one in the Ordaz family has EVER defrauded anyone and they are the second oldest real estate group (though independent offices for each) after the Caballero Group.

Well I do beg to differ with Richards statement. I will not go into it, but it cost me a lot of money to defend myself against false accusations made by the Ordaz family, and yes, I was found innocent, after many lawyers, and lots of money. Enough said, back to the thread.

This thread is about Carmen Gonzales not about you Kim. Does anyone know the whereabouts of Carmen Gonzales, her daughter Maria Ester or anyone with knowledge of "Amigos Trust"?

Is this the office that had the mysterious fire, that destroyed most of their records, about 3 years ago on the south side of Beltrones?

I need an explanation of this concern. I for one, do not know anything about this person, but my interest has been stimulated....

I will tell you about her. She had Amigos Trust, (right next to Mega Cable) which would do bank trusts through Interacciones. A few Real Estate Agents would use her exclusively to do their documents for property transfers. Carman would take the money and not do the work, so after a certain period of time, the buyers would inquire as to when their trust documents would be finished, and they would never get an honest answer or their trust documents, and the buyer would have to go elsewhere to get their paperwork done for the transfer, and be out of pocket twice. Interacciones was not very interested in what was happening when I called Mexico DF and complained on behalf of several of my clients. No transparency and accountability. Bad business, and I know of atlas one Real Estate company that told their client it was out of their hands....broker not taking responsibility for their clients having to use Amigos Trust. Her reputation has not been stellar for many years. Could never understand why she was still in business.

The Gonzales Group came to San Carlos in 2000 invited here by Gerardo Pliego the then Comisario of San Carlos and his partners, the Reeves, then owners of Casa de Amigos Realty. On December 11, 2001 it was discovered from the Secretaria de Educacion y Cultura in Hermosillo that Maria Ester Herrera Gonzales operating as a lawyer under the law license (No. 2680663) of another person! Maria Ester is Carmen Gonzales' daughter. Shortly after this, Carmen started Amigos Trust operating in conjuction with Casa de Amigos Realty and Barb Reeves. At times Carmen also claimed to be a lawyer. And the saga goes on and on but begs to answer the question, "Why did so many allow themselves (individuals as well as realty companies), to be taken by these people knowing what the SEC exposed?" On November 14, 2013 the Expreso newspaper published news of a Ministerio Publico investigation naming Karmen (sic) Gonzales as purporting to be a lawyer. The newspaper shows a screen shot of Siesta Realty's web page where Phyllis Lilichkies says across the top, "Meet Amigos Trust in San Carlos" and goes on to extol their virtues. And of course there was the mysterious fire at the Amigos Trust office next to Megacable. And there must be dozens of individual stories; and yes, the silence on this until now has been deafening!

CAVEAT EMPTOR----

All of you Foreigners need to understand,,,,Many of the Good Mexican Folks here-a-bouts look at you as "Fresh Meat that will feed their Family". (Certainly Not All; Certainly Not all...But Most). [I said that twice because it is important]

And they think that you are "Easy Pickin's" (as most are and as I have been many times). It ranges from the Big Con, swindling you out of your property, to the little con, "he wasn't using that tool so I guess he didn't need it, Pues".

"john, it was you who originally brought up the other party!"

I googled the name Carmen Gonzales, I posted what I found, it was concerning Carmen and the Ordaz family. I believe that has since been deleted as per Richards explanation.
I never brought up the Grossman family...

The people that know most about Carmen Gonzales and her group are Barb Reeves and Phyllis Lilichkies.

It would be interesting to read as open a discussion about Catalina Ordaz and Snowbird Realty, too.

I have had no dealings with her/them, but when I moved here in 2008, no person or real estate firm was more reviled among the people I met, than that firm. They clearly used to be very prominent in SC Real Estate. Their signs were everywhere. Now, the building appears to have been closed up for a few years, the building is for sale and there are no Snowbird signs around, that I can see. Their demise seemed very quick. The people I talked to just refused to do business with them.

I know Mr. Baca defends them at every turn (and I understand his relationship with one of The Sisters) but a firm doesn't go downhill that fast without some reason(s).
Subject for another thread?

We might also find out about the recent history of the old Hotel Fiesta, the uncompleted tower next to it and maybe the condo tower out past Bahia Esmeralda.

Is there a bigger mystery in town than all this? Not since I moved here, but I havent been here long. I only first came to SC in 2000.

Hook, the Ordaz family is not germane to this discussion. Open another thread if you wish to discuss that.

Kim, you brought it up (many lawsuits against the Gonzales') not me, so YOU please report to us what you know, or shut up!

I have my trust with Carmen Gonzales. I have not seen her in a while but her staff is there. They moved from the place by Los Jitos to a house down by Blackies. What exactly are the issues people are concerned about?

Rich, isnt she just an intermediary and your actual trust would be held by a financial institution?

Our trust is through Banco Interacciones and we have been very pleased with the speed with which we received our documents. We dealt with them, directly. Sometimes that guy in the office doesn't keep regular hours and they have been slow to update our account, but we are satisfied. We knew little about them when we needed one in 2008, but it was an easy choice with all the horror stories about Banamex and particularly Bancomer, at the time.

RichD, your trust had better be with a legitimate bank and not with the Gonzales. Interacciones is such a bank and hopefully that's the case.

I'll check again with my nephew. He was the Guaymas Ministerio Publico District Attorney that supervised her arrest, arrainment and detainment.

Well, you should be okay RichD but to be sure, look at the last three pages where the certifications are to make sure it was duly recorded in your name at the Registro Publico.

DIck, How dare you to tell anyone to "shut up". This isn't your board, last time I checked. You obviously have too much time on your hands, and feel it necessary to pick fights with people that post on an information board. Keep it nice, or stay out of it. Kimberly.

Not a huge CG fan. My Grandfather had done business with her for many years. Several years ago he went to her to have his Trust put in my wife and my name. That was in April. The following January he passed away. When my wife and I went to her office, she had not sent the paperwork and the trust automatically went into his kid's names. Her only explanation was " I thought I had time...he looked so healthy" He was 97.

Many people have died waiting for their trust work to be completed. It has become a real mess with many of the bank trust departments.

I had a brief encounter with Carmen and her daughter, both represented themselves as lawyers, I had a legal issue, they said they could solve it, I refused to give them money up front, I also imposed a deadline for results, the deadline came and went, so I went else where,  I do not work with people who can not follow thru with a commitment.

Neither of them are lawyers, and misrepresented themselves many times. It cost a lot of people a lot of money. Very little recourse in Mexico ...

Rich D,  You said the new office was open and I'm assuming that Carmen's daughter Maria is running it.  You paid there?  What kind of receipt did you get?  I honestly don't think they are representatives for Interacciones  any more.......be careful.  I know of several people that smelled  a rat when they went to pay and walked out.

An update: My trust is not due until July so I have not worried too much about it but I was told that Amigos trust is completely gone but their files were transferred to the office in Las Palmas center (between Oxxo and Colibri). Brenda will take your payments and issue a receipt. This information is second hand but I trust the source.
