I arrived by bus this past Sunday to spend the winter on my boat.  I plan to sail down to PV and thereabouts.  I thought I could get my visa here in San Carlos/Guaymas and was happy to wait a few weeks (while I'm working on my boat) so I didn't start the 6 month clock ticking on a tourist visa.  I'm told by friends that I made a big mistake and I'll need to go back to Nogales and cross the border again to get my visa.  Isnt there an easier way? Can't I just check into to Santa Rosalia or Lorreto on my way south?
