If there was a "wish list"
a) Ease of use - posting pictures without having to make smaller etc i.e. board system would handle like facebook does for example , drag and drop.
b) Ease of typing - I use Safari , don't know if that makes a difference but often have to go back and add returns at end of sentence to get spacing between paragraphs
c) Reduce number of forums - so that a post would get a larger viewership , currently you can post in some forums and there will be a small number of reads - end result not worth bothering posting.

In this post I typed it with spacing , soon as I preview its all crunched up again - which means go back through and create spaces , adds to effort.
Only way to get spacing between paragraphs is treble or more returns and the end ..
Not complaints - but you did ask :)
Without doubt there is a need for a venue for constructive discussion and sharing of local issues and information , I would be delighted to see readership grow.

Good luck

I agree with Ian completely. Formatting a post is a real pain if you are doing more than one paragraph. and, when I go to larger text for readability, Bart complains that the larger type implies an angry or assertive post.

A couple of comments
After doing some research, I have increased the size for an attachment to 1MB.  We'll see how that goes.  Photos and such consume a lot of bandwidth and file storage and one concern is the larger size may make the forum very slow to load.  We'll watch and see.
Also see http://forum.sancarlosmexico.com/forum5/8141.html and http://forum.sancarlosmexico.com/forum5/2866.html for tips on posting photos.
Also take a look at http://www.picresize.com/ for an online photo resize software.
On the font size issue, rather than creating a post in a very large font, change the size of the browser display.  Consult your browser help menu for the method to increase the display (zoom in Chrome for example) to say 125%.
More to follow...

Move to a modern message board format.  Look at something like Rival Main Board as an example.  https://forums.rivals.com/forums/the-main-board.26/

It has an alert function when you are quoted or someone tags you.  It makes things much more interactive and engaging.  Guarantee it would increase traffic.

Content and moderation are key.  Add some daily or weekly feature.  Weather, current local events, etc.

For an insurance partner/advertiser, I would look at Baja Bound.  They are a top flight Mexican insurance company.  The best I've seen.

With a little work your volume could go up 10x, as the competition isn't very good.

Font sizes have been increased in all 4 themes. You may need to hit refresh to get them to display. More to come....

I have a habit of double posting.

On other forums, their software requires 3 minutes between posts on the same thread to rule out double clicks, and there is a delete button that the poster can use later to eliminate his double posts to save the moderators time correcting idiot mistakes.

They also have a 10 minute grace period to edit your posts prior to the edited notification being added to the post which also makes it a little more user friendly.
