For the uninitiated, it is important to make sure that, while the Samsung Note has problems, there are other really fine Samsung cell phones. I have a Samsung S7, the latest in their line. A really great (albeit expensive) phone. Been using it in Mexico and the US via the Telcel Sin Frontiera "pay as you go" plan.

Just don't take your SS 7 on an airplane turned on. They are under a recall for battery fire hazard and cannot be turned on or charged on an aircraft. Google Samsung s7 recall for more info on the recall.

The Samsung s 7 is a great phone, I have one with the same plan described above. It is the Samsung 7 Note that has been recalled, as Bart explains.

Sorry and with respect, but Bart's post is confusing.

One must separate the Samsung Note 7 from the Samsung Galaxy S7. It is the Samsung Note 7 that has the battery problem and is being recalled and NOT the Samsung Galaxy S7. Unless I'm missing something, there is no recall or airline restrictions on the Samsung Galaxy S7.
