We unfortunately only have about a week to play on our sailboat starting tomorrow.  Does anyone have fabulous suggestions for remote anchorages that have good swimming and snorkeling, and/or skimboarding near San Carlos?

I posted this in another forum.

Here are the best options from closer to further away from Punta Doble. Hope this is not too late for you......

Bahia San Pedro/Ensenada Grande: 28 02.98 - 111 14.81 ~13 miles

Caleta Serimuerto 28 05.27 - 111 16.56 ~18 miles

Caleta Venecia 28 07.83 - 111 17.67 ~21 miles

Ens. Julio Villa 28 13.10 - 111 21.64 ~27 miles

All these coves have sand beaches you can dinghy or kayak onto shore easily.

You might consider a day or two going South to Guaymas harbor.
Interesting to see but not a place to swim.  However, there is a good
anchorage at Bahia Catalina depending on wind direction and there is a nice beach there.

Oh I have never been to the Guaymas harbor. Might try and fit in a visit soon.
