It's been a while since I posted a report...fishing as been good these last few weeks for us, both San Antonio point and San Pedro Island ave been pretty consistent with fish boiling if you have the time and patience to wait long enough...trolling has not produced much for us at San Antonio pt but casting to boils has been very effective... SP Island has been producing some quality fish, mostly jigging for us and also casting small jigs and surface plugs to the boils...I have seen some boats at the island doing great o the troll as well. After a while of not seeing them we ran into huge schools of humbolt squid, they were all over the place between the island and ensenada grande...not really big in size but lots and lots of them. A few pictures from the last few weeks, ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() On another subject...Gerardo Grajeda, former Sonoran Charters captain is running bottom fishing trips for Catch 22 now...if you like bottom fishing he is one of the best captains in town to go and deep drop for grouper, and all other bottom dwellers Fernando PQ Almada Catch 22 Sportfishing Adventures

Just curious what kind of jigs you all were using. I have some turkey sliders, but your jigs look smaller. Thanks!

I use Turkey slider 90% of the time if we are jigging from the bottom, but most of the fish we caught this past week were caught casting to boils on the surface...I was using small 1oz diamond jigs and some megabait kudakos...also the shimano waxwings have been working great on the surface.

Fernando, do you have any waxwings for sale (or by the tournament)? I've heard of those, but never tried them. Matt

Matt - those are not available wholesale, and are hard to get at any discount. US prices run $18-$24 each! I know he has a few, but don't know about "resale" inventory. It is kinda like a "secret weapon"!
