One of the features of this board is the Private Message capability. This allows members to send private messages to each other that might contain personal info such as phone numbers, email addresses, real names, etc. that members do not wish to make public. It is also a great place to carry on a private discussion that others may not be interested in. It is easy to use and easy to check. To send a private message, simply click on the member user name that you want to send a message to. A pop up window will appear with the member profile and link that says Send a Private Message. Click there to bring up the window to compose and send your message which is very similar in appearance to the topic window. To check for new private messages, simply look a the highlighted text next to your user name at the upper right. If no new messaages have been received, the link will say no new messages. If you have new private messages, the link will say how many you have. Click the link to open your PM inbox. Please be courteous to one another. Use of the PM to threaten, harass, annoy, or intimidate another member is an absolute no-no and will result in loss of board member privileges. Private messages are just that-a private exchange between members. Do not post them onto the message forums. If you feel a member is abusing you with a PM please forward the PM to the administrator for action. Usually a good idea to at least glance at that each session so you can promptly respond to any new PM. Enjoy! Bart Last edited on Thu Aug 24th, 2006 02:30 pm by bartmanaz |

Please note that private messages are not sent via email and can only be viewed on the forum when properly logged in. If you opted for email notification of private messages in Preferences under My Account, the system will send you an email alert. You need to login and check private messages on the board. You will see a notification in bold next to your user name at the upper right. Click on that to view your PM. Please do not reply to the email. Those are sent by the server at your request and all replies come to the administrator.
