what circle hook and leader size are most people using for sailfish and stripe marlin fishing with naked ballyhoo in the san carlos area. thanks for any info we will be coming down for memorial weeked and stay for the rescate tournament.kenny

I would say 100# and 8/0, but I often use 80# and 7/0 with more sails around. I use Suffix which is stiffer than most leaders. I've never had an issue besides one tournament in Cabo when they had us using soft 60# for marlin ( best to let them run and wait until they settle down as their bodies were breaking the leader).

thanks, that is what I was thinking.are you using long igfa rule leaders or shorter 5-6' fluorocarbon when fishing the tournament to get your leader touch and photo
