Caught some good sized bonita today on the Seamounts. Heard some small yellowtail and bonita were caught up past La Manga.Released one marlin five miles off Haystack.

Saw a lot of deep marks, esp. off Bandito. The bonita were pushing 10#. Picked up a dozen plus at all the inshore spots. Sounded pretty quiet for anything else.

Got five yellowtail at Doble today. A dozen bonita. One was 11# and coughed up a skipjack. One cabrilla and a decent Sierra.

Yellowtail? Might have to brush the dust off the Calstar's and lube  up the Newell's.

Very good bonita bite! Picked up one of two nice yellowtail off Lalo's. Maybe could have weeded them out with some big jigs, but couldn't troll long without a bonita.

Got one 20#+ on the middle seamount. Small purple is very hot. A lot of small mackerel in the stomachs. Going to try a 20' blue mack tomorrow. Great bait readings inside Deer Island, so hopefully the Sierra will show. I'm getting sick of catching bonita, but they sure taste great hot out of the smoker. Making some aguachile. Poke (hawaiian) tomorrow.

What a great idea, Bryan. Bonito aguachile.

It's definitely the best raw fish that we get on a regular basis.

From what I have been hearing there is bait absolutely everywhere. Bonita showed up in the millions and a few boats loaded up on them at deer island. I'm sure you could catch some from the beach as well.

Plenty of bonita a little off Lalo's and tons from 4 Chichis to the shallower areas. Saw boats off Venado, but didn't hear anyone complaining of too many :). They have been jigging up a few yellowtail off Lalo's. Maybe tomorrow the boils will start. Looks decent outside the Reef. Will try tomorrow.

The morning bite was a little slow, a couple of Fortune Jack's and some bottom fish. The late afternoon bite was wide open. Off San Antonio in 175' of water the yellows we're on the chew. Big current and lots of chop made the fights tough, but for an hour, one spot was non-stop catching.

Got within 2 miles from the island and got engine problems. Had to turn around and limp back home on one motor. Got it fixed and will be back out to play fish in the morning.

How is the fishing? Did things slow down? Or are they all gone

Maybe they rested locally on the full moon. The bonita continued to bite. Some excellent yellowtail catches up the coast. Going to really blow today.
