Those of us who have dined there and love the place will continue to frequent Bonifacio's Cotton Club.  Every meal I have eaten there was excellent.  The service can be slow, but I am retired and need to slow down anyway...

I wish Francisco and Sandra MUCH success with their restaurant.   Buena suerte!

And I will do my part during the summer months to help them keep going, by dining there on a regular basis...  It's a hungry job, but somebody's gotta do it!  ;)

Hi Duke Dog
We've been to the Cotton Club several times and enjoyed our visits each time.  We encountered no problems with food or service.  You should bring your concerns to the attention of the owner if you haven't already.

Joe

For those of you who are regulars, what are your favorite dishes?

I've only been twice. The burger is incredible and so is that kabob with the chunks of tuna and steak and veges on it. By far the largest portions on a kabob I've ever seen, outside of a backyard BBQ.

Looking for other things to try on their menu.

Gotta agree, though. Service can be very slow, even to be approached for drinks.

I had heard that Sheila (of Greek Palapa and MarinaCantina) was going to have a bar built outside on the beach side for her by Francisco, but he changed his mind. That would have been a great thing for everyone as you would have been able to get your drinks (made correctly) in under 30 minutes and it would be a money maker for Bonifacios.  Oh well back to the drawing board.

Could have called the bar "Tequila Sheila's."

Too bad. Sheila is a big "draw"

A big draw and also a great hostess, waitress and bartender, plus knows how to handle people, make them happy and get the drinks and food out.

We were in town for only 3 days and had dinner at Bonifacios. We were the only one in the restaurant. We loved the ambiance and the staff's friendliness. My husband had the rabbit with a cranberry reduction sauce, and I had the langostinos. I don't eat rabbit, but tasted it and would order it. We would rate it #1 on our favorite San Carlos restaurants. We will patronize Bonofacios once a week, when we get in town for our extended stay. I think San Carlos needs Bonofacios.

Drive west to Hotel Paradiso and make the u turn to head back east. The turn off is on your right. There will be a sign for Soggy Peso also. Take the unpaved drive toward the sea and keep going past Soggy Peso. It will be on your left. While you are there you can cross the little bridge over the estuary and walk around the Hotel Paradiso's grounds. Very pretty.

We are so excited to come back to San Carlos next September and one of the big draws is the Cotton Club. We are only in San Carlos for one week every other year. We discovered the Cotton Club and Five Palms last time. we ended up eating at the Cotton Club three times, great atmosphere and food. Service was a little bit slow but we were not in a big rush.

We ate at Bonifacios soooo many times, and my first disappointment has yet to come.
Lovely people and great food in a marvelous setting, I cannot wait to go back again!
