Does anyone know how to reach the manager of the Arco station in San Carlos? We believe we got bad gas there this past week and we have 2 friends who also got gas there and are having the same car trouble. After we got the gas, our car started running like dog crap. It spits and sputters and almost dies and this is also happening to our friend. Our other friend's vehicle did die and he had to have it towed. We would just like to bring it to the manager's attention.

I believe that the moderator on the other other board knows Memo well.

Does Memo still own stations in Guaymas?

Memo still owns this gas station, other in Guaymas,  and the entire plaza.  He leases it out to Arco who manages and provides the employees.  He runs a very honest business and would love to know about a potential issue.  If he is in town he tends to be at the insurance office about 9:15.  If nothing else call the office and ask to have him call you back.  I have his cell number but I don't fell comfortable making it publicly available.

Thanks everyone! The mod of the other board sent me a message and said he is friends with Memo and he sent him a message. And for the record, I don't think that Arco/Memo is trying to screw anyone. I just think maybe they got a bad gas delivery. Or it could be totally coincidental.

Delivery drivers have been a problem in the past at other stations, selling gas on the side, replacing with water, and this is one reason why Pemex required the stations to get their own trucks.

simple fix delivery trucks can be equipped with GPS devices to monitor their movements!

If someone is going to steal, they find a way.
The operators at the plant like to fill when the gas is hot in the afternoon as it expands, and the trucks use volumetric, not weight, scales. So they add kerosene, water or diesel to make that up.
The drivers can stop for a sandwich while some steals 50-100 gallons. The can also just leave a little in the 5000 gallon tank, or their long 6" diameter hose.
Then the station operators start with you selling you 5.5% less by issuing quarts not liters, air bubbles to the metering pumps, or about 10 other ways I have seen.
The inspectors are on the take, and have been for years, so its like trying to stop the income stream for the cartels.

a tanker truck and an armored truck both carry valuable cargo! probably the value in the tanker daily exceeds the value in the armored truck, yet we don't hear of problems with the money being delivered and received!
there is no doubt that there is corruption involved! standing by and accepting it as business as usual only enables the thieves and the corrupt!
