covid-19  started as a novel virus and the treatment experimental! there was a massive push for ventilators, they where used and are still used! as there has been time to see results and failures new treatments are being used, with greater and less damaging success! here are some articles to read!!

ECMO therapy helps COVID-19 patient recover

p.s. there is a difference from a hospital bed and a ICU bed, the ICU needing qualified staff to run!

TrueBlue wrote: There were 11 COVID deaths and 25 new cases in Guaymas between May 13 and June 17. That very high death rate is probably due to a lack of testing/diagnosis, reluctance/fear to go to the hospital and a resulting under count of actual cases and spread in the area.

Wear a mask, social distance, safer at home.

Earlier, someone on this thread said that masks were ineffective and actually harmful. I just don't know what to believe.

Not ineffective, harmful only in rare circumstances.

Here is an interesting article on effectiveness of simple masks at filtering small particles such as Covid-19.

https://www.prevention.com/health/a33078717/best-face-masks-for-covid-19/

They have found that bandana made of t-shirt like material still allows droplets to travel 3 feet 8 inches.

There are still KN95 masks for sale on Amazon. As Bart suggested, research the sellers well. There are many instances of buyers not getting masks that filter 95% of the minuscule particles out as a true KN95 mask should. There are also the American N95 or the European P2 or P3 masks which are probably very difficult to find still.

https://sonora.gob.mx/coronavirus/inicio/

Just checked the page...

10065 Confirmed Cases
7715 Active Cases
1334 Recovered Cases
1016 Dead people
16054 Tests Performed
5989 Cases ruled out

Given that there were 16054 tests performed and 10065 confirmed cases, this indicates that only those that are *highly suspected* of having COVID are being tested, most likely due to a lack of availability of tests.  This is similar to what was experienced in the US during the initial infection period.  Actual infection number is probably far higher.

I haven't seen any news that AMLO says its whipped.

I do see him trying to suggest you can go out to tourist locations, so there is no doubt he is giving a different message than his health guys, who are pitching doom and gloom to cover their butts, but he is still not as blatent as Agent Orange with his Hotels, Golf Course, and Relection swirling down his own toilet.

1/3 of Mexico income comes from tourisim, so this, the lower oil prices, and the high unemplyment are a triple whammy. Guess he is leaving today for Washinton, and saying that Mexico is in fine shape, no way he needs a loan, and meanwhile no relief for the business and small time street vendors he has shuttered.

The Sonoran Health minister, says he has had Covid for 5 days, and gave a very chipper news conference this morning, looking fine and dandy.

So believe it or not as its really a guessing game these days, imo.

Pima county is now sending new Covid patients to Phx hospitals, and out of state locations. They are full. It is difficult for me to understand the reluctance in our governor to set mandatory mandates to protect the people in Arizona. As far as the border being closed, what a joke.

i went to Guaymas this morning arrived Sam's and Walmart at 8:00 for "seniors hours". a mask was required to enter, i was given disinfectant for my hands and the cart handle my temperature was taken, at both locations.
there is a road block coming into San Carlos staffed by armed "marinos" and a med-tec who takes your temperature before you where are allowed to proceed!
none of the above was much of an inconvenience and i personally welcome their efforts!
