i watched both of the articles jimmy provided for us to watch!
the one article with Dr. Drew Pinsky, he finishes saying don't listen to him listen to Dr. Anthony Fauci, that he is the expert!
Dr. Fauci is on the presidents advisory team and respected through out the world for his expertise and advice!
maybe someone can paste some of Dr. Fauci's advice, i would if i had the ability or knowledge to do so!

Trump falls for the liberal conspiracy on corona virus. He will declare a national emergency in his address at 3pm, EST.

It's here on Fox News.

I agree that Dr. Fauci is the only person in the media/government speaking consistently with any credibility behind them. Listen to everything you can when he is speaking.

I just learned that my sister, who lives in Spain and is *very* physically active, has the corona virus (not verified by testing, but very likely). I spent about 30 minutes on the phone with her and she sounds horrible, but not fatal-horrible. She has been sick for several weeks. It is alarming because she is one of the most healthy people I know, clean diet, long distance runner, avid hiker, etc. I have not heard her sound this sick, ever. She is in her mid-50's. This virus is not a joke. She has self-quarantined.

i posted this a week ago, they " WHO" are the collaboration of drs. and scientists around the world, they where on top of from the beginning of it's reporting! they have provided nations world wide testing kits!

i agree with jimmy, pony, and john ALL the media outlets are over blowing this problem, and politicians on BOTH sides are using it for their advantage!

* it is real
* 81 % will get mild to no symptoms
* 14 % sever symptoms " pneumonia"
* 5 % are critical/ fatal
the measures taken drastic as they are, slow the spread of this virus. the Chinese where the world wide model with their drastic and radical quarantine of an entire province!
there will have to be sacrifices made to slow and hopefully stop the spread! the current administration is following suite, better late than not!

The problem is Trump has no credibility concerning the virus. His response has been scattershot and haphazard at best. Today he will declare a national emergency freeing up millions of federal and state dollars to combat the virus. Even billions if he enacts the Stafford Act. Why is he doing that if this is just the common Flu?

Stanford hospital board internal message.
The new Coronavirus may not show sign of infection for many days. How can one know if he/she is infected? By the time they have fever and/or cough and go to the hospital, the lung is usually 50% Fibrosis and it's too late. Taiwan experts provide a simple self-check that we can do every morning. Take a deep breath and hold your breath for more than 10 seconds. If you complete it successfully without coughing, without discomfort, stiffness or tightness, etc., it proves there is no Fibrosis in the lungs, basically indicates no infection. In critical time, please self-check every morning in an environment with clean air. Serious excellent advice by Japanese doctors treating COVID-19 cases: Everyone should ensure your mouth & throat is moist, never dry. Take a few sips of water every 15 minutes at least. Why? Even if the virus gets into your mouth, drinking water or other liquids will wash them down through your throat and into the stomach. Once there, your stomach acid will kill all the virus. If you don't drink enough water more regularly, the virus can enter your windpipe and into the lungs. That's very dangerous. Please send and share this with family and friends. Take care everyone and may the world recover from this Coronavirus soon.

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT - CORONAVIRUS
1. If you have a runny nose and sputum, you have a common cold
2. Coronavirus pneumonia is a dry cough with no runny nose.
3. This new virus is not heat-resistant and will be killed by a temperature of just 26/27 C degrees. It hates the Sun.
4. If someone sneezes with it, it takes about 10 feet before it drops to the ground and is no longer airborne.
5. If it drops on a metal surface it will live for at least 12 hours - so if you come into contact with any metal surface - wash your hands as soon as you can with a bacterial soap.
6. On fabric it can survive for 6-12 hours. Normal laundry detergent will kill it.
7. Drinking warm water is effective for all viruses. Try not to drink liquids with ice.
8. Wash your hands frequently as the virus can only live on your hands for 5-10 minutes, but - a lot can happen during that time - you can rub your eyes, pick your nose unwittingly and so on.
9. You should also gargle as a prevention. A simple solution of salt in warm water will suffice.
10. Can't emphasis enough - drink plenty of water!

THE SYMPTOMS
1. It will first infect the throat, so you'll have a sore throat lasting 3/4 days
2. The virus then blends into a nasal fluid that enters the trachea and then the lungs, causing pneumonia. This takes about 5/6 days further.
3. With the pneumonia comes high fever and difficulty in breathing.
4. The nasal congestion is not like the normal kind. You feel like you're drowning. It's imperative you then seek immediate attention.

I am very impressed with the recent responses to my post about the Coronavirus in San Carlos.  It indicates a thoughtful readership on this forum.  There must not be any known cases in San Carlos, although there are elsewhere in Mex.  I especially liked the interjection of humor by Jimmy.

Regarding Semana Santa,here is a link to an article from two days ago. Mexico is aware of the problems presented by large crowds of people but has taken no action yet: https://www.infobae.com/america/mexico/2020/03/11/un-spring-break-contagiado-por-el-coronavirus-como-afectara-la-pandemia-de-covid-19-al-turismo-en-mexico/

#52 the Stanford Hospital post is fake - all BS. The real Stanford posted -

Misinformation about COVID-19 symptoms and treatment falsely attributed to Stanford is circulating on social media and in email forwards. It is not from Stanford. Official information from Stanford is available at https://t.co/LlNXeyuejP.

NG makes a great point. There is a plethora of COVID-19 info floating around but the best sources are CDC, Johns Hopkins and WHO.
https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/index.html
https://hub.jhu.edu/novel-coronavirus-information/
https://www.who.int/emergencies/diseases/novel-coronavirus-2019

Please check and verify sources before you publish supposedly current info that you got by email, facebook, twitter and the rest-most of that is bullsh*t and I dont want it here.

Also keep your political opinions to yourself-this is not about politics it is about lives-yours and ours.

It does not need discussion here. Plenty of political commentary going on in the USA with a major election season approaching and all the airways filled with it. Think what you like but if this turns into a political thread it will be locked. I don't push my personal political views here and simply require others to show the same respect.

Great advice Bart! I am surprised by the empty paper products shelves here in Tucson. Also surprised by the attitude of many shoppers who can't find toilet paper. Be careful where ever you shop. There are some seriously stressed out people in the aisles.
