"Mexico and the United States agreed to extend the closure of their land border to nonessential travel until July 21 after reviewing the development of the spread of the coronavirus in both countries." I think we all know that is worthless. All you read on here is about people crossing with no problems. Essential travel is a joke.

The Presidente Municipal of Hermosillo was on TV and social media this morning conducting an interview with the State Sec. of Health.
Basically what it boiled down to for me was that there is no more room in the private, state or Federal hospitals in Hermosillo' 2 beds in town if you're lucky, or rather connected, off course depending on the death rate and the good Dr was telling people to take aspirin at home. and also see if they could get some anti clot and anti parasite medicine to relieve some symptoms. He didn't mention anything about what to do in case of diarrea, so as usual, the whole experience was very enlightening.

Meanwhile, Gatel, the Federal spokesman, is still reporting no shortages of beds, and AMLO is still saying that we should not isolate, and get out more often, so there's no lack of comedy to start off our week.

This is a very poorly written article as the headlines says one thing, and the story another.

There are actually no reported shortage of test kits. But because more samples have been submitted to Ramos Labs, this company cannot process and produce all the results within 4-9 days, so this company, and others will not accept more samples until they can get catch up.

It mentions other private labs doing the same, but does not name specific sources, and therefore brings that insinuation into question too.

Opinion Sonora, seems to report more opinions, in my opinion, than facts.

Gatel is now saying this evening that only 46% of all of the hospital beds in the Republic of Mexico are being used for the crisis and that the highest occupancy rates are in Mexico City and Guerrero where 62-72% of the beds are being used. Meawhile Hermosillo's saying they are full.

Looks like the entire burden has been shifted from the feds to the state governors, just like in the states.

This was posted on the Viva board. I have looked in a couple Mexican papers but I can't find anything in regards to this. Anyone have information? I have been to Leys twice in the past 10 days. Both times the female cashier was not wearing a mask.  If this report is true, there is a likelihood that many of us have been exposed.

POSTED 1 hour ago.....
"Last night, 6/17/20 several different "Noticias" said the employees of Ley's Market in San Carlos are sick with Corona Virus. Same information was presented on Facebook. Radio repeated these news bulletins this morning. So be careful, if in doubt or denial listen to Mexican radio stations in Guaymas and make your own decision."

many misinformed posters believe covid-19 is the flu, IT IS NOT! they do have similar symptoms and that is why specific testing for COVID-19 was developed! covid -19 is far more lethal than the flu!
i am pasting this intervene with an accredited epidemiologist on a network KNOWN for it's denial of this particular virus!

Radio reports today in Spanish are saying that infections this week are almost 10x what they were 2 weeks ago in Sonora.

Its time to really hibernate for 2-3 weeks imo.

Sounds like they are shotting foreheads for temperatures now.
The HSBC next to McDonanlds is reportedly closed, and this is where most of the Maquilla employees cashed their payroll checks.

1041 deaths reported this afternoon, so far, in all of Mexico
