hopefully the picture of my weather station display will upload so I can ask my question...

Can someone please tell me why the weather station shows the cloud with rain falling from it on a perfectly clear, sunny, blue sky day?
Is there some strange misread of the barometric pressure or something that makes the weather station show this rain/cloud?

Thanks...

My first advice on any computer issue is to reboot it. Turn it completely off and/or remove batteries if necessary and restart. If you have both indoor and outdoor units do both.

Yes, it is measuring a drop in barometric pressure, and possibly a rise in humidity, that its programming deems likely to cause rain.

I see this occur on many of the lower end units that attempt to predict the conditions. They tend to be wrong north of 90% of the time, IME, especially with incorrect rain and/or lightning predictions.

I have owned a few of the lower end ones because, for the money, they do what I want; give me temp, humidity, barometric pressure, 24 hour highs/lows, etc. I just ignore their predictions.

It's somewhat surprising, really. When you first set most of them up, they go through a month-long analyzing phase where they are supposed to be analyzing the weather patterns in your location. Doesn't seem to learn much.

Thanks, Hook, for the explanation.

I usually do just ignore the prediction display, so I guess I’ll continue doing that.

Batteries both inside and out were very recently replaced.

They're all made in China. Maybe it is a diabolical plot to keep us all depressed about an impending rain?
