We were across the bay at Hammerheads when we saw major flames and thick, black, petroleum-based smoke coming from that area. The fire actually seemed to be moving against the prevailing wind, when led me to believe that it might have been jumping from boat to boat.

After finishing up a Hammerheads. we headed over there to see what was going on but there were too many police to get near it. A fire truck did eventually arrive about a half hour after we first saw smoke.

The smell of that acrid smoke extended all the way to El Corralito, where we turn inland to our house. It definitely smelled of a combo of burning petroleum, fiberglass and/or plastic.
