I thought it might be valuable to have an ongoing thread about your border wait experience. Maybe have one thread that Bart could pin to the top where we could record our crossing times (and experiences) immediately after we cross.

A thorough post would probably include:

-the gate you crossed at
-the time and date you arrived at the back of the line
-the number of lanes open
-the total length of your wait (not including secondary inspection)
-the length, if any, of your secondary inspection
-whether trucks were blocking the passenger lanes

This would give us a running record that might allow us to draw some conclusions as to what the status is of the crossings.

The CPB site is often accused of being very inaccurate and the El Imparcial webcam sometimes is not wide enough to see the entire line.

My wife crossed yesterday afternoon (Wednesday) at Mariposa. Arrived at 2:35 and waited 30 minutes. 3 lines open. No trucks backed up.

I too crossed yesterday afternoon; with Mariposa showing 60 minutes wait, I looked at the webcam to see there were no cars in the toll road lane. I was on the south end of Nogales so I went around to the toll road, no truck problem there, Paid the toll and about 1/2 mile before the start of the cement barricade to keep trucks from blocking the passenger vehicle lane, they were blocking all 3 lanes. I had the cement barricade preventing a U-turn, and immediately had a car and semi behind me, then 3, 4..no backing up. I could have been there for hours, but after 20 minutes, the truck line moved and the truck next to me didn't. Before he got started, the two semis in front of me had pulled into the middle lane. They had been stuck behind a semi that was broken down in the left lane! I blasted by them on the right, full throttle, cut back to the left and made it to the barrier securing the passenger vehicle lane and to the border, with a 25 minute crossing time. That could have been a horrible experience if it hadn't been for a little luck.

Thanks for the post, Ironman. Yes, the truck lane is becoming a BIG problem. You were lucky. Others have not been.
