|We will have a potluck in memory of Bruce at noon Friday at Club Deportivo. Please let me know if you are coming. We will have chicken, potatoes and brownies, at least, and a few memories to share. (RSVP through message here or to email@example.com)
++++Bruce Walker, 64, passed away suddenly at his home in Idaho Springs on Jan. 12. He lived in San Carlos for seven years, and taught tai chi at Club Deportivo. He was born June 2, 1954, in Columbia, Mo., to Bruce and Maryann Walker. He graduated from Alameda High School in Lakewood and attended the University of Colorado. Bruce worked construction, but his real passion was martial arts. He ran a successful family self-defense studio in Connecticut for 25 years. After his years in San Carlos, he returned to Colorado, where he worked at the Project Support Senior Center in Idaho Springs, driving locals to appointments and running a fitness class. He had some health struggles but kept an upbeat and compassionate attitude. He is survived by his brother, Lou, of Idaho Springs.
We are planning to have a gathering at a local restaurant, probably on Feb. 21 when his brother will be in San Carlos.
