Over the last several days I have been left several voice messages on my US home phone
saying "your Icloud account has been hacked".  Don't do any transactions on that account.

Please press 1 to reach Apple Support.

When you press 1 someone with a very heavy accent comes on the line, identifies themselves as Apple Support and they start asking questions about your account.

This is a phishing call they are trying to get information from you to gain access to your account.

Beware:  I confirmed with Apple directly that they are aware of these scam calls and they would NEVER make such a call to an Apple owner.

My advice is just hang up!!

Thanks for the warning, Caroline. It's good to publicize these kinds of things.
