Unfortunately, it's all getting really out of hand. What a shame.

They ALWAYS get away, to potentially kill again. Never any deterrent to them pulling this off again, towards police or citizens.

How do you not have a plan to seal the city exits when this occurs in the middle of town? Time and again, the perps are able to outrun even radio transmissions. There are really only two ways out of Guaymas proper. This appears to have occurred at the Modelorama next to the Chevy dealership and they made their escape EAST, according to the new reports, away from the police station. They escaped through the center of town?

Of course, they CAN'T outrun radio transmissions and an organized, rehearsed plan to seal the exits.

What a sad welcome card for the new commanders. I believe that was their first full day on the job.

Coincidence?

Had the military and state police turned over policing duties back to the municipal police? I thought they took over after the complicity in the kidnapping of those alleged cartel members and all the threats?

I think one of the arguments here, is that the bad guys have better weapons. So, if I was a policeman, and the person I am chasing has better weapons, maybe I do not want to catch up with them. Kind of a losing situation. Just saying.
Many years ago, when Hector Lopez was the comisario, I asked him why the police were not chasing the cartel out of town. (there were many homes in San Carlos being guarded with machine guns, and nasty looking men....) He commented that they had better weapons. I couldn't argue with that.

One of the Officers in the video was shot through his ballistic vest and I presume killed. My experience tells me it was AK-47 at close range...

It is getting plenty Harry in the Old Pueblo. Those Dirty Officers who fled Norte left this....They are the ones who should have paid the ultimate price........

Very tragic for the families and loved ones of these five officers.
As Jimmy said, the ones responsible left these officers to face the revenge killings.

Here’s a much more coherent English language account written by a credible source, if his bio at the bottom of the article means anything.

marigot, this article was very informative! there are some discrepancies, the photos here clearly show the end result and deaths accruing on SERDAN! my accountants office is front of where the photos here show and she verified to me seeing the bodies and blood!

this article also verifies it was a revenge shooting!

Too bad that the US FBI is to busy with political internal affairs. They might find the Officers who fled to the US.....

And charge them with what? Has Mexico requested the FBI do this?

Here is another article from Opinion Sonora that seems to indicate that the police force doesnt have enough bulletproof vests to go around, because of the actions of the outgoing mayor.

Hook, like I said...AK-47 at close range will penetrate even the Best Protective Vest!!! You are correct...there would have to be co-ordination, and a Will to apprehend ...

Frankly..................... You are  safe in Oregon, or where ever you are in the NW until whenever and Opionate, and Pontificate. And I am safe NOB until December..To do the same.
PS..How bout translating your posts of the local News Reports..Would be helpful..Not like you some folks who read this board do not read Spanish....TY

I have been asked not to post the text from articles on this site. Only links. So that's what I do, Jimmy.

Besides, all someone has to do is cut the text and paste it into a translation program.

I use Google Chrome as a browser and it does it automatically, instantly, when I go to an article that is not English.

Unless they locals have a helicopter ready to go its tough to track anyone who has family all around town where they can hide their vehicle. This is organized crime making a hit on a scuadron commander that was fleeing several attackers.
