This week’s Rescate Tip provides some common-sense advice about hiking (and any other outdoor exercise) during the heat of the summer:
  • Go out in the early morning or late afternoon to avoid the heat of the day.
  • Wear sunscreen, protective clothing, sunglasses and a hat
  • Carry and consume lots of water, sports drinks and high protein snacks
  • Take rest breaks, preferably in the shade, when possible
  • Carry a fully charged cell phone
To read the full article see today’s What’s Up San Carlos newsletter.

Remember Rescate can’t be reached at 911. In an emergency dial 226-0911 or, from a US or Canadian cell, 011 52 (622) 226-0911.
