A friend has had this for several years. She changed phones several mos ago and could not get it to make calls to Mex numbers while she was in the US - as it used to. She was on the the phone to ATT in the US for 3 hrs and they finally told her it was a Mex issue and not their problem. So now she texts me (from there or here) and I call her back as texts work both ways but calls don't.

My AT&T Mexico month-to-month prepaid plan worked well in San Carlos, Guaymas, Empalme, Hermosillo; Palenque, San Cristóbal de las Casas, Tuxtla Gutierrez; Mexico City; Querétaro; Oaxaca, Huatulco. It also works well in the USA - although I usually switch to T-Mobile in the USA and so I am less aware of any drops of service.

I have a dual SIM phone with AT&T Mexico and T-Mobile services. I spend half the year in Mexico and so T-Mobile requires the majority of your service to be on their service in the USA. 90 days seems to be T-Mobile's trigger if you use roaming services a lot.

I leave T-Mobile active while in Mexico and just switch default outgoing text messages and phone calls to AT&T Mexico AND I switch data to AT&T Mexico.

I get calls and texts on both my US and Mexican phone numbers. T-Mobile has not complained about my use.
