Lots, but improving all of the time. worst is from km21 to Santa Ana. However, there are lots of finished sections even on that drive. Having done it several times in the last few weeks, the difficulty really depends on the number of semis on the road. Tue (Nogales to Hermosillo) and Wed (Hermosillo to Obregon) this week were rough because of the semi traffic.

I always try to cross the border around 12AM Monday though Thursday when going north. I have found that the early morning is best when traveling south. Afternoon seems to be worse going North or South.

That has not been my experience, in fact, the border wait times on Sunday were less than during the week.

MARIGOT wrote: Not if you leave early...only 5 minute waitWhat do you consider an early time to cross (going into Mexico)? We'll probably spend the night in Nogales so we can get a bright and early start.

There's never a wait crossing into Mexico, it's when you return north that there can be a horrendous wait. Avoid a line at K21 and do your visa online, then stop at the office right after crossing the border.

The truck crossing opens at 6 am, the downtown crossing is 24 hr - so I suppose they meant 5:30 am truck ?? or either ??
