What a difference in price! Are they located in Guaymas or San Carlos? Do they have the great response time that Cyber co has? I too am tired of paying so much, when it is only $30 a month here in the states. It all adds up.

Their office is on Caracol Big yellow home on corner as you go up hill. They don't use contracts as their opinion is if you are not happy with their service then don't use them. The owner has many years in the states of experience and knows how to run this type of company. The days of cyberco gouging us is over.

So they do not have response staff  or 24/7 manned bilingual office ?

It is a franchise / dealership for monitoring looking at the US website , for “monitoring” remotely looks pretty good , so depends what you want.

I suspect physical response and physical patrols along with bilingual will be worth the extra to many.

If you only want monitoring you can do it yourself without monthly cost :)

Yes office here in San Carlos yes they have response staff call them ask question. They do send someone out with police if they are called. Also I heard they may be looking at new office on main road.

I recently met with Horizon. Unless I totally misunderstood, they do NOT send someone out with the police. Were that true, I would go with them despite the cost. Their call center is remote -- not in Mexico. I was told that the call center will notify the police with ONE phone call. But no one from Horizon will physically respond. I am not sure if the call center is bilingual.

Not what I was told. Fact they assured me they would come out with the police. They also have a emergency number here in San Carlos.

Like ballenamar, I specifically asked Horizn about response and they do not have a physical response. Their response is to send the police. I considered them, but don't really trust one phone call from USA to alert the police here.

Guzzi:  Regarding Horizon's police response. I discussed this at length with the man when he visited me and I felt like I was getting mixed answers from him. He never offered a rock solid description of the procedure when an alarm was triggered. Because the response issue is very important to me, I asked another question when I did not understand what he said. Each time I felt that I was getting a slightly different description of what would happen when response is required. He did not leave me with a feeling of confidence and trust. He acted more like a salesman trying to close a sale than someone who would protect me. With Cyberco I always received a solid answer.

It's funny how you keep switching threads I answered you on the other thread. They always come with the police.

I am very sorry Guzzi. I did start one of the threads but I'm nit sure about the other. BUt, you can blame me for the confusion. I am simply trying to respond to a posting on a given thread. I plead guilty !!!

You state the Horizon always answers responses with the police. They are the new kid on the block. Do you have any idea how often they have done this? Do you have any direct experience with Horizon when a response was required? I apologize, but I do not share your comfortable feeling about Horizon.

Why not ask them if they can produce their response records at their "local" office? Go right down there and ask for them, including what personnel are listed on any incidents from their company and from the responding police officer. Any decent records should keep track of the responding personnel. In fact, ask to meet any responding personnel from their office that should be on duty at that time.

I would not accept a "we'll get back to you with that" statement. It will give them time to "create" something.

Who has taken over Cyberco, with the death of its primary owner (as I understood it)?

So much contradictory information, from this and other threads. And for both companies. In-person, company response or no in-person, company response. Up front money or not?

I suspect the confusion may be intentional. You never know what response you will get until AFTER you sign up for the service.

Hook: I do not think that there is intentional contradictions by anyone. I may have made a mistake on my post regarding front end payments. I am following up on this and am waiting for a phone call tomorrow. If I made an error, please be assured that I will correct it.

I was a previous customer with Cyberco and found them to be VERY honest and consistent. I dropped them after they told me that they were no longer working with the police but still responding. HOWEVER, I recently found that they are now working with the police again. So, I will be a Cyberco customer again very soon. I have EVERY confidence in Cyberco and the Van Kirk family !!!!

Speaking of the local Police..............Does anyone remember that it was the Police themselves who robbed the SC house of Ironman Craig???

Its my understanding that they were caught but their punishment was being transferred to Guaymas........

I don't see the local police being much good for anything.

In general, I agree with you but I do know of circumstances and personal experience where the police did excellent work. Your argument amplifies the need for an alarm company that offers skilled response.
