Wish I was there.  It would be fun to be taking those waves in a boat.

I may be wrong, but in my 30 years +, I have never seen a surge cross Beltrones, at least in the "downtown" area.

newton and jimena, san francisco , playa algadones beaches are flooded. it won't take much for that water to cover the road in spots!

That was not surge, that came from the torrent of rain and the down sweep from the mountain's. I believe.....but I am truly not sure.

Just spent a couple hours along the walkway from La Palapa Griega to Charley's Rock. Got some great photos and videos.
I posted the photos on Facebook.  They are too large to post here.

I don't honestly think that the sea was much more angry during Jimena or Odile. Yes we were here and were amazed at both so lots of wet time watching both. Jimena took out most bridges and 4 or 5 ravines were washed through San Francisco Beach, you could not walk down the beach without going around. The newer bridge by Loma del Mar going to Nacapule was swept away and the water was around 100 meters wide there. Yes, 35 to 37 inches in a day and a half and the mountains shed water in raging rivers. I don't know that a 70 to 100 foot boat could navigate or survive these seas? Maybe those more experienced could answer that one better. Just an opinion from a Wyoming mountain type guy that has witnessed new weather?? Blizzards are our specialty up there, hurricanes/tormentos here. It's all amazing. Ron/Ynot

We are at Costa del mar. It's raining out here but water is at the walls of houses but seem to be doing ok. The only issue was the gate guard is nowhere to be found and some resident had to let us in.

Hope the evening goes well. People had plenty of warning and hopefully made preparations. Should be all over by Saturday afternoon. SC dodged a bullet. Be thankful.

Based on that one news video, I thought the waves were much bigger during Jimena.

And, no, no water from the ocean flooded Beltrones during Jimena. It was all runoff from the mountains.
